I figured out what was wrong, I think. I've been walking around all evening, like I do all too often, having two distinct things to deal with but not wanting, feeling the right energy or daring to do them. (Cutting the last pieces for the elven coat and my German studies).
Then I came up with something, after reading in the anthology "Firebirds". I've lost something, in a way. Kind of like "Mariposa" but not my soul - I'm not reading anymore. I sometimes go to bed looking for a book that's not there, and I don't read in it. Or any other book, for that matter. Hey, I almost regained it before I went to live in Japan, but I lost it again. Dear me. I don't dare read "Tigana", it's too strong, I need something more lighthearted. And the last Harry Potter book I know will absorb me completely, so I wait. I re-read "Sabriel" not too long ago (in terms of years) and I don't want to keep reading stupid, boring Raymond E. Feist, or at least the one I'm currently on. Yes, so blah blah falls and all is doom and gloom. I want the next book!
That's what the long webcomic bookmark list is for, I think. To ease the empty feeling.
And while I read Musashi for personal benefit, and "Unfinished Tales" too, I need the feeling of munching through a fantasy series. Jordan, I won't even mention you, you idiot, and by the way your books suck. Well, not all and not everything about them. But I sure am not going to give a single piece of dust about them until... well, until I care to bother again.
Maybe I should try "Eragon". After all, it can hardly be a very challenging read. Possibly, a tour to the SF bookstore would be good. They have good deals at times. Or I could read through "The Belgariad" again. It's still what helped me delve further into fantasy. Oooh, now I know... Narnia! And "Princess looking for Dragon" or maybe those cool books by Susan Cooper...
Except I don't really want to re-read them, I want to read them again for the first time, but re-reading those I haven't visited in many years will do. Library, yes, I believe we have a date.
Edit:
And one day later, I bring home the whole series about Prydain by Lloyd Alexander, the audio cd's about Narnia (hey, Patrick Stewart reads some of them!) and a shorther German version of Baron Munchhausen... ooh, my spelling is good now. That could be because of the time of night. Eheheh. Anyway. Lots of nifty loot. Need another go tomorrow to change some of it. Now sleep. Or maybe some writing first.
Gods, I haven't written anything in years. Nothing purely out of my own making. Fanfic, one or four, some character-based stuff, but... seriously, not for long. Sleep, now, before I not only write them out, but miss them and the correction of them, the little evil spelling errors.
