...means "sick, sickly" in quenya.
And that's precisely what I have been, and am. Going home was nice as usual, though I failed in a spectacular way to launder all my stuff properly. Note to self: Do not book the 7-10 am laundry time. You will be too tired to think.
Then I got up early and got on the ferry and then something had happened, and I managed to crawl here and then I've been in bed since Tuesday morning. If I wasn't freezing like nobody's business for a few hours, then I was sweating enough to be able to wring it out of my sleeping t-shirt. Hurting all over, coughing like mad. Thoughts going in circles, fever dreams, my body's boundaries were defined by pain and not any physical thing such as "skin" or "limb". Which made for an interesting experience I don't want to experience again. I had about an hour of lucidity, during which I was able to get up and eat a ready-made meal. The night would have been worse than it was if I'd actually been less ill. As it was, hours passed and I couldn't tell if I was awake or asleep, just wake up long enough to get another painkiller. The morning brought hunger, so I nibbled on an apple, enough to get me out of bed and manage to get a piece of hardbread with cheese, and new herbal tea with an overdose of honey. That took about an hour. I think I called the illness advisory line, but all they did was say it sounded like an upset stomach (...I have no idea how they came to that conclusion...), and then I remember pain and moaning, before another painkiller kicked in and I could get up and grab another piece of bread.
I was seriously thinking of calling an ambulance somewhere there in the morning. I was NOT well.
At three pm I actually woke up and was pretty lucid, but then the coughing got worse. I long for some liniment or something to put on my chest, because this is not very pleasant.
And now it's on its third day, I am running out of food, I've missed two iai practices this week and will probably miss tonight's as well, there're several more odd things going on with my body that has me a wee bit worried, and oh, my new schedule for work sees me working on average ten to twelve hours a week.
I'm feeling so very motivated right now. Not.
Hoping to get well soon. Have read through the entire archive of the webcomic "Dominic Deegan: Oracle for hire", have the visit of a friend to look forward to soon, and have some inspiration for lrping. I just wish I'd get well.

Maybe get a friend over to sleep at your place if this continues?
Don't be alone when ill. Done that myself overseas and it just takes longer to get better and you have no back-up if you need it.
O-daiji ni (take care and get better soon).
I tend to be sick only for one or at the most two days. This was something extraordinary, it seems.
You have a very good point there. That might be easier in the future to do, if we manage to get a spare mattress into the apartment. On Gotland, I have several, here, not so. Though I was fuzzy enough in the head that I didn't even remember I had friends in this city until I wrote the above... or was it afterwards?
Yeah, it really is so, isn't it! At least, when I fell super-ill in Japan, I had first my roommate and then sensei to help me a little. I could have told the Scotsman to buy me some medicine or such, but, I barely could get out of bed to get to the toilet...
Okagesamade! And thank you for your concern! Right now, I am a lot better. Just a bad case of the sniffles, bleedy nose and cough, which is a relief. On your side of the ocean, I hope you are both healthy and happy!
