Nilmë

...means "friendship" in Quenya.

I should be very much getting into the mindset of Reg right now, my lovely combat Tremere. But Rana still has some hold, lingering. I can understand why, it was an intense five hours of larping last weekend. Very intense. If I'd lost my faith in larping it'd have been restored right then.

The snow was deep and let one right through, and underneath there was often branches that let you through even further. The ice was slippery and the ground soggy. And yet... I glided through it all as if nothing in the world could disturb me. And it couldn't, not really. Thigh-deep in snow? I still had a straight back and glided through it as if nothing happened. Ice underneath my thin soles? No worries, I stepped lightly and with sure feet. Two of "my" elves being cut down? No problem, cue running like a madwoman across the ground, cresting a stone cliff, blocking an arrow with one hand, going down said vertical stone cliff face and not a hair out of place. Well, almost, but, still. And then, when all seemed to have been solved to the best possible end... where was Enwë, true and wise Enwë?
Well, lying on the summit of the hill, an arrow sticking out from his torso. Aaand cue running again. It was said afterwards that I somehow glided up that hill, and the elf following me (or rather her, Rana, I mean) climbed and crawled and muttered and couldn't understand how I did it, and, in long skirts and all. what can I say... I was Rana, and that was all there was to it. No snow, no matter how deep (waist-deep in places), no cliff, no nothing could stand in my way and when I got up, there he lay, lifeless.
(I checked with him if he wanted to keep playing the character, and I had an organiser nearby - the elf following me - and, well, long story short, brought Enwë back from his path towards eternal rest. He hadn't gone far at any rate, the Blue Flame was mine, power sources nearby and a half-open portal and so on... meh, not a hard feat for Rana, THAT Rana).
It was a lovely, gorgeous, wonderful, marvellous strong scene, that finished the larp (for my part) on a perfect high note.

So... no wonder Rana is so strong inside my head. Quite apart from everything else that took place during those hours. She's... intriguing. Aaand she's got a dragon; always a bonus, that.

Larping helps me live. I must make certain to do it as often as I can. And I'm happy I seem to be figuring out how to be a friend. I'm still staying away from any "serious committed relationships" for the time being, I'm not ready to mess another one up right now thank you very much.
But I do seem to have found a few friends closer and less close that I really care about and want to not mess up with my simple existence. Here's to that - cheers.

Also, I am an Enwë fangirl. To think that a "simple" goatherd could be that damn cool.
