Didn't feel like writing anything. Since yesterday afternoon I've been having these strange, violent mood swings, and I'm trying to keep the darkness and whining away from here.
But oh well.
Having my faun friend here was a blast. He woke up, and he's just been... it's just been lovely to be able to talk to him, any time, all the time. We've seen something of the island, among other things Högklint (Highcliff) where I haven't been since I was a small girl. He said it reminded him of Ireland and the Cliffs of Moher. I had to agree, and the water was wonderful. It looked like someone had painted the bottom of the sea, and the water was so clear and beautiful. You could see very far.
It felt like forever he was here.
We created him a satyr character for Changeling: the Dreaming and I've really grown into my role as a storyteller. How many times did we play? Wednesday, Friday and Saturday... I think. Or maybe four times. I really can't remember! This time I had my guidebook from Lonely Planet at hand, so I could give them a good idea about Inverness. There was the lovely characterized, exhausting and passionate Nocker greybeard played by Count Torulf, the obnoxious, cute, wonderful, mouse Pooka played by SirEmma, the creepy, silent, pat-on-the-head-inducing Sluagh that Malk played and of course the brash, loud, flirtatious, near-hedonist Satyr of my dear Maur's.
Such a time we had. And never have a troupe of players had more diverse characters. I don't think they spent more than maybe a couple of hours... no, maybe one hour, of in-game time all in the same place. After that... well... the occasional assembly of two or more would happen. When Wolf came home on Friday and his grumpy, grinning, wonderful Redcap came back to town, it wasn't exactly something making it easier!
I loved it!
There's a metaplot I can't talk about, there're so many small strands of things, there are stuff I don't know about, there are characters with key positions here and there and stuf that the players aren't even involved in... Great, just beautiful, all of it!
The poor sluagh having a real greybeard and "hobnob" of the kith home over tea... the little pooka with such an amount of information, accidentally pranking the only one she really liked, and that after having been scared out of her wits by two creepy, slimy sluuuuagh (I enjoyed that little moment of sluaghness!)... the nocker completely unable to resist the pull of rebuilding the satyr's Harley Davidson Nightrod Special, and cursing and lying and... glorious, all of it. The dour redcap getting all soft-hearted over the cutest, most well-meaning little owl-pooka childling there ever was...
As you can see, I wasn't exactly bored, or hard-pressed to storytell one more night.
Thursday resulted in one and a half hour of iai, and then two hours of Guanabara capoeira, talking, sparring and much silly fun. And then a half-formed idea about moving to Edinburgh to a big collective this autumn. The city has a lot to offer for us all. Once the muscles had calmed down over Thursday, well, it was Sunday and time to go practicing again.
Once again, I had some proof that I've become better at reading people. Feeling when they're really not saying everything, no matter if they actually think they do. Maybe it's part of being a more whole person, or it's one of my little quirks. I don't know.
I got all dressed and gothed up on Saturday, and the dahling satanistwitchgoffffgrrrl wasn't there. So disappointed! I must make certain she'll be there next time. Malk apparently has inside information. We're still not sure whether she's his first or third girlfriend though, he hasn't told, but SirEmma is the second, so he told us. (And for those who weren't there, harassing the sluagh Malk about such things are great fun, and it's not really what it sounds like, but we're still trying to project some kind of serious, honest attitude about it... and failing spectacularly, of course).
This morning saw two wonderful men in my life taking their leave of the island. I really hope to see wolf sooner than in two weeks. Maur already told me he misses the place (I am so happy! It makes me all warm that he likes my island.) and would like to visit again, but I'm pretty sure he'll have a blast in Tallinn, too! It was like a week of... yeah, real semester. Really taking time off. I haven't touched anything about school forever, which has been lovelier than you might think. By the gods, I doubt many of you understand the kind of bond I have with the faun. It's like spring is always around the corner when he's near. I send him my fondest wishes, that everything works out, for him, for his lady and love, for everything.
I have a home test, now. And assignments. The apartment looks like hell, or, I like the living room, but the kitchen? Puke. I hate it when I'm left with THIS much dish to wash. I can take some, but this is just ridiculous. Well, I will take care of it of course, and banish some of the gravel inside the door by the mountain of shoes, and pick up some of the clothes strewn about in the sleeping room... and sort the laundry.
Bah! Bah, humbug, I tell you. I want to do other stuff. Narnia, embroidery, LotR and drawing. Sounds good! Great, in fact. Tomorrow, study.
And just when I thought, I really don't want to have my coaching talk today, Asa calls me and wants to move it for Wednesday! Brilliant, just great! That is a good thing that happened today.
Tomorrow I will buy wool for extensions, maybe a shirt to recreate, some more lace and stuff... and study. Hehe.
Thanks go out to SirEmma and Malk for letting me have a cup of tea at their place this afternoon, when I really didn't want to return home to an apartment empty and filled with no one after a week of great and constant company.
Mind has been working like... uh, I don't know. Overdrive? Become worse and worse, it has. Constantly filling up with strange designs of clothes, scenarios, characters, fantasies... Driving a car today was hazardous to say the very least. My mind really, really wasn't there at all.
Saved for last, is a veritable "Aaaargh!" of pleaseur. Dear gods. A whole cd and not one single bad song! Just... the lyrics! It's amazing! I must spam you! It is not for a super-good-happy day. It is for a thoughtful day, for a shitty day, for a breakup day, for a depressed day, for an introvert day and for all those days when one needs a bit of calm. Ladies and gentlemen, The Perishers, and their song, "When I fall". For me, and for how I am.
I thought you should know
I don´t wanna let go
Since you´re allt I´ve ever dreamed of
What will you do to make me want to
Just don´t ever try
To find out why
I always keep you waiting
Some things are better left unknown
When I fall - if I fall
Darling hold me
´cause when I fall - if I fall
I will take you with me
You mean the world to me so
I ain´t gonna let go
I need you to cling to
What will you do to make me stop
Just don´t ever try
To find out why
I always leave you hanging
Some things are better left unknown
