Aurë

...means "day".

A quick one.

Sleeping more has really helped. It irks me a bit because it cuts down on my spare time, but it's all right in the end. My body is more cooperative. My mind's about the same, though. The night to Sunday I slept as well as I haven't in ages. Goodness gracious me, I was completely and utterly rested when I awoke. Also, I've started eating more. Bad for the economy, good for my body. I suspect I need it, seeing as how I'm practicing more and more, and how I've started to eat with three to four hour intervals - keeps the energy level up, and has my body burning energy.

Practice four times this week. AWESOME. I can really feel I am getting better again, and becoming stronger! Finally, my iaito is not as cumbersome to me. Very good.

Work's been somewhat slow, and today, a real drag. Not much to do but in intervals, and some people that I work with just... don't do what's needed. "You're flitting about today, eh!" they say. Yeah... because you aren't, and there are things needing to be stocked, and so on...

Still all excited about writing.

Did I say me and wolf are going to Gothenburg next week? Just for a few days, but still. Real nice! If we do. I hope so.

Thinking about getting myself the Tactical Backpack, instead of, or together with, the Fast Attack Bag. It is a really, really good backpack.

Seems like I'm going on a date tomorrow. Looking forward to it! She's really quite an awesome woman.

And I am SO lagging behind with stuff I need to do. Dammit. Nothing complicated. But damn, I HATE it when papers are on Gotland, and I am here... stuck for another two weeks. One week. Whatever.

In any case. Listening to Ben Del Maestro singing in "Breaking of the Fellowship" and being sleepy, but quite happy. Good night, all.

Any kind of martial art requires a lot of sleep. It's part of the deal, your body needs that time to regroup. Professional artists with the most incredible level of fitness often set aside 10 hours a day for sleep.
The mind uses that time to absorb what you learn to. It's why something often seems easier the next day than the day before.

You know, you really have a point with sleeping more. Thanks for pointing that out to me!
I do know I need my sleep when studying, or else I might just as well not study at all.

How's your practice going?

Mine?
Oh it's going great.
I've had gradings in Philippine Combatives and Mixed Martial Arts recently. Just basic level stuff, but these are add-ons to the Karate syllabus that's my main game, so it's nice to be able to say I have some level of attainment in more than one martial art (they crossover so skills in one become handy in another), and that I have proven I have the drive and the fitness to pull through them.
I'm hoping to be accepted into a grading for 3rd kyu in the next cycle, around March, which will be tough.
It's the way of the art... the better you get, the harder it becomes.

I put some pics up of my Salamanders captain, in case you want to have a look. No golden demon, but he gets the job done.
