Quick question

I would appreciate your opinions.

I am guaranteed a full-time position in Edinburgh, at the GW store there. I can be there in less than two weeks to start working. There is no time limit for the opportunity.
I know the iai people there, they're nice.

But I'd only practice once a week, and I wouldn't make such positive progress as I do here. And this time, I'd be alone. It'd be marginally harder to see fox, whom I miss very much right now. Also, I don't want to be unreliable, but I feel that summer will be the time for me to return home to Sweden. And maybe that's too short for them?

In Stockholm, on the other hand, I would have to not only work part-time, but also study full-time. I'd have to find somewhere to stay, but I'd have to pay double rent regardless of where I went. But in Stockholm, there is Kensei iai club. And with the progress I've been making... by the gods. I appreciate so much that they let me practice with them, and Henry-sensei is such a very, very skilled sensei!

In Stockholm I also know the people I work with, and have a fething awesome manager. And the economic situation and worker's rights are better here.

I'll... keep you posted. It is completely even right now. Maybe it became chosen, and then, it will be Edinburgh. But I really do not know. I really have no idea. It may seem as a given choice, but it is not. Anything goes, anything could be. Both are tempting, both have good sides, both have bad. It is balanced in my mind.

But for one thing, which is that it is an opportunity I am unlikely to have again, the same way. And foxling doesn't want to move to Scotland, as there seems to be little in the way of work for him there, work that he wants to do and has the training for. So, me moving there now would be good, because he's got things to keep him occupied, and we wouldn't have to feel, neither of us, that we did something we didn't want, or that the other didn't want.

Hmm. Something is slamming, as if a metal panel or something was loose. I guess it's just the water, but still. An unnerving sound. Now, going to watch the sea, in its endless beauty, majesty and calm. Even if the waveheight is around 2 metres at the moment. Isilmëarë...

Edit:
So, am now home. And things have swung in the other direction. Hey, I had a plan here, and I really, really like my little home. I like the place, and the apartment, and I like living here. I like the job and I like the thought of studying like an idiot.

It's not easy. And my stomach is lurching from the angst of decisionmaking. I cannot recall such a difficult decision as this.

Edit, Monday afternoon/evening:
It's swung back and forth. I was looking at flight schedules earlier today, for example. I was also over to the Catthulhian place, and the Arch-Flynn gave some good... well, both advice, and viewpoints. It is very beneficial to have someone who knows work-fu, and who's been both an employer and an employee. But the biggest thing against it now, is that they want me to be there for a longer period of time. That is however also a big thing speaking for the very matter. I've enquired about how much I would earn, about hours, and so on, and so forth.

There was this one thing Arch-Flynn, Ale, the Snake himself said, though - about the direction I want to go. Iai is not something I will compromise. Archaeology is my goal. And this is a side-track, an awesome side-track, and I work with my hobby, but... it's an opportunity that came along, that is great, and that I totally didn't expect. But I guess I shouldn't loose track of where I was going. I think. I mean. There's a big opportunity here.

I've got fifteen minutes.

Fifteen minutes.

What's it to be?

Given how you have spoken of Scotland the last half year...if the money (wage vs expenses) is good enough, go for it.

The boldest decision is often the best. Go. Even if it's just for a year or it doesn't work out so well, you won't be left wondering what might have been. And Sweden will still be there when you come back.
