Úvië

Úvië means "considering a matter (with a view to decision)".

And, the decision has been made. I've dropped a note about that elsewhere, too, and I'll say basically the same things. It wasn't an easy decision, and no, it was never a given. Neither way would have been a given.

Well, I am going to Edinburgh. Probably sooner than later, too, and I will love every second of it. But it will not be next week, and it will not be because of this job opportunity. I might book a flight with Ryanair soon enough, I feel the need to go to Scotland and I might even have some money for it, but I will not be moving there.
In the end, it didn't have anything to do with my significant other, or friends, or time I'd have to spend there. It was about salary, and that was, frankly, too low. The lower costs for living would have made it not much of a problem, but still. It is just too low, and I've a sneaking suspicion I might've had to start repaying student loans - and THEN I'd have been in deep muck.

Instead, I am now desperately hunting apartment in Stockholm, just a tiny wee room for no money at all, waiting excitedly for iai to start and preparing to start my mental schedule of working and studying.
Just one day more a week would have helped. One day more. Even two hours more would have helped.
I'm really not happy about it. And I really would like to know, how come two of the other key-timers got more days, and more hours, than me? Didn't he get my note that I'll be readily available for more work? Or am I not as good as they are? Because that last reason I can understand, but then, I want to know, to be able to become better!

In any case. Though things seem a bit wobbly, the future is moving again.

Am going to bitch a bit more about neighbour downstairs to the powers that be. He kept my brother up last night by talking loudly with someone. I didn't notice, I woke up by his piano playing instead. "What's with the bastard, why can't he move out or go to his druggie friends, doesn't he have any legs or what?" said an aquaintance. Actually, no, he doesn't, one of the reasons he's so often high on a combination of whatever it is he is smoking at the moment, medicine and alcohol. I'm not sure I want to know precisely what is in that cupboard some of his junkie friends were yelling about...

What else... There's a fine layer of snow again, I like it. Makes the world look very young and cheerful. Going to do some laundry later, and have a cup of tea with the elven composer. I SHOULD also take the time to drop by Gairniaut, but I can't be bothered today, I think. Gnuh, there's a lot to do. Apartment, studies... and I'm all caught up in writing again. It's not Geira and Sam, or even Anjie, this time, though, but I know that if I opened those documents I'd be stuck as well. It's a dream about a war and I'm writing as if obsessed. The story needs to be written, it is writhing inside me and has been since I first was touched by its smoky tendrils, and I've written around 8000 words so far. It's being sent back and forth and rewritten and reworked and it is very rewarding! It does sort of take up a wee bit too much of my time, though...
I wish I got paid for writing. I'm not that bad at it, really. In fact, I think I'm quite good, and, it's an awesome thing to be doing so, hey, someone should be willing to donate some of their precious money (of which quite a lot of people have a goodly amount) for the enjoyment of reading it. Shouldn't they?

Oh well.

The Hellhammer is big and clunky and I go squeee when I look at it. I got the idea of a big Baneblade with a nice, big =I= all over it, but it's such a bother assembling it all! The bother, though, gives lots of opportunities, which is why this is now a Project. To put a Guardsman inside it or not, having him peek out of a hatch or a shutter... hm... Also, I'm making it an Inquisitorial Hellhammer. If I'd have been a shmott gurl, I'd have used really good magnets, and then I could have switched as I saw fit between a Hellhammer cannon and a Baneblade one, but oh well. But now I'm going to =I=ify it, with a little cherub stolen from some Empire sprue, I think, and try to get a Techpriest or a sage standing around with some sort of measuring equipment.
I'm so not going to have an army to field in February. It's going to be Vandraed and a humungous retinue, and a Hellhammer. And I pray to the Emperor I'm allowed to use two or three non-GW models........ though I doubt it.
Damn GW for not having more and better female models. I need one for Kyrie!
They ought to do some anatomy studies, really. Look at how joints act differently, the way the lines are different in a woman's face, and so on. Long hair, breast and butt doesn't a woman make. There're more differences than that.

Right. Enough babbling here. Got to do stuff.

Oh I agree. There should be more female Imperial Guard models.
Ironclad commercial sense too... a female commissar or officer would sell faster than stuff would get smashed in a porcelain shop full of rampaging orks. Plastic Sisters with separate head bitz even would open up possibilities for swaps.
I'd like to see a pic of this Inquihellhammer when you've got it together.
