Midsummer/Tanabata

Midsummers evening is a time when most people in Sweden gather - as a family, or as friends - and eat more or less the same traditional food.
Here, me and Anders boiled scrubbed potatoes and melted butter on them (oh! the bliss!), took some unsweetened yoghurt (sort of creme fraiche) and put in chive and also boiled eggs. But to me, the crown of the evening (apart from the potatoes) was the pickled herring in mustard sauce *starry eyes*. Of course, since we did not have any akvavit we had to go for vodka, and I say, the herring's taste really was accentuated! But, without songs no drinking, so we sang drinking songs too.
How very Swedish of us!
Well, we've been exceptionally well-behaved so far...

Then there was a party, to which me and Tseegi were rather late, but I so pwnz0red it. The loudest scream when one shows up on the dancefloor is usually a good hint.
Though, those rumours about Japanese dancing habits are true. And everyone stood in a circle around the few who actually dared to go solo.

Saturday was great. I tiptoed around in yukata all day long! Mine is white, with bluish black morning glories that has small sakura on them, and nifty grass-thingies, and stuff. Very crisp and beautiful. My obi is blue with sakura pattern, and my geta are black with blue straps that has reddish leaves on them. I also used my black little "handbag" with white sakura pattern, and a light blue fan with some flowers on it. Everything matched - as my guru Iwhy/Nirdil has taught me!
My hair was done up in a pretty bun, and I stuck nice pins in it, one with dangly stuff. During the day I posed for an army of cameras - believe me, you will have a hard time imagining how many photos were taken of me! - so there should be some pictures somewhere.

There was the Orihime-Hikoboshi-contest, and I do not want to know how many votes I got. You see, I realized the majority of the voters were either Japanese girls or "Asian females"-fetischist boys... men... guys. Thus...
Anyway, I was a little irritated with my team-up since he dressed in his baseball clothes. Ruined my presentation, did he!

No one was surprised when the two guys wearing not jinbei (looks kind of like a pyjama to me) but yukata (the male version) won. One of them is quite handsome but I don't know his name, and the other, grand prize winner, was of course Hiroshi, but both - dear gods, yukata is sexy. My wolf likes to wear it, so he will definitely not be without. Yay!
The girl who won, though, surprised me since I have not seen her around much and she was to my eyes not at all the prettiest. I voted for another. The grand prize winner was, ahem, a guy dressed and make-upped as a woman. Darn, this is ridiculous how easy Japanese guys can look female!
...I like it.
Anyway, it was great fun.
Then, from 6 to - nope, no kidding! - 11:30 different bands played, people sang and danced and stuff. I skipped the first hours because of the loud music, but I really, really enjoyed the students that are from Okinawa and their traditional music, and the brass band (whose saxophonists I stalked and talked to a bit, and then got to play. Joy! I have missed it so much.) and Kelly, Kim and Shogo when they played.
Then there was also some dancing, and I should not have looked.
Because that tiny girl has one of the hottest bodies I have ever seen, and she knows how to move it. Damn. Frustration was running high, and it was worse because of teh hotness emanating from Shogo and Kelly. Of course, the hot guys dancing among the last did not help things a bit. Me and Latrisha, the African-American girl with the smooth skin, beautiful eyes and... general hotness aura tried to keep safety distance from eachother and Kelly, Ramone, Mat and so on...
Dammit. Over 30 days left.
I missed wolf a lot, needless to say.
But. I was very pretty. And people told me that, in the right ways. I blushed. Guys, thank you!

Today? Boring.
Oh, apart from the Tseegi-pisses-Elenaria-off-royally-thing.
Walking out on me during a discussion being only slightly less dramatic than a certain ex-boyfriend is NOT A GOOD THING TO DO.
But it was solved. After me coming up with something that is benefiting for me and her, even if it as usual means me holding back. Ah well.
(It all was about her wanting personal space and thinking I spent too much time in the room, so she could not have her private time. Not the best way to put that, darling, not the best way...).

Ten minutes past midnight. Stupid stupid me.

Telephone calls from wolf always makes my day better. Love you.
