...means "sleep".
Of course, I want to play Anjie more. Again.
But I doubt it'll be the same. If the storyteller sees something as "finished, ended", then, in my experience, it'll probably never happen that you play it again. No matter how much you say "yeah, maybe it'll happen, you know, if..." I don't want to doubt that it might happen, but I suppose the negativity of others and the "yeah, very likely" weighs me down. Or maybe I've just had some experience in these matters.
I never stop hoping. That's why I never erase characters. I never stop hoping I can some day, play them again. After all... if it DOES happen...
Never mind that the group is gone, people live all over, one of us are dead, the rules are long since customised beyond recognition and we'll never, ever play again. (Random things that hinder random characters to be ever played again).
Hope and dreams, how illusory and uncertain, how intangible and easily dispelled they are.
Tonight, however, we played Exalted. I actually sort of enjoyed to play Jez, even if, well, hell if I know if I can ever get as close to her or do more than just "play" her again. I don't know. I think we should do that little thing we did when I played Coriolis with the party in Stockholm, ask, what would you like that others "play up" about your character? Would probably give very much. Or, I know it does.
Anyway. We were out and about, Sky was down and unconscious for most of the time, and the army disappeared. All of them. Highly worrisome. We did manage to heal up Sky a bit, with the help of some barbarians poor private healer, and when we got back, they were gone.
Out on lake, get audience with lesser water-elemental dragon, get orders "kill as in dissolve not-permanently river-god = get army back", go to river, enter sanctum of river god...
And then, I actually got to be all Exalted-y action cool. Wham, bam, smack, right in the Valor, three rounds and he was out. I managed to learn a technique which enables me, Jez, to see what Virtue is the strongest in a person/being, and then, if I hit them there, and do even one little dice of damage, I do an added amount of lethal levels of damage that they possess in that Virtue. ...does that make any sense? In any case. I hit, and I hit bloody hard, and Valor, well, said virtue rests in the crotch. I think some of the others hit him, too, and we were lucky to get it over with quick, or we'd have died from suffocation. River god, you know...
Also, I figured out that a certain character is a Lunar Exalt. Very interesting! Of course, I don't know how to play Jez, so she tends to be either too overbearing or just plain boring, but what the heck, at least I was kind of nice. Didn't tell any of the others. And, he seemed to become less grumpy toward me, too, after a while.
All in all, a nice night. Good playing, interesting game overall, nice people and good tea.
Have a sunburn that is interesting, to say the least. Working on remedying that.
Oh, aye, I forgot to write. An old acquaintance showed up on ICQ. I was rather surprised, but not in a bad way. Just... "Huh! Well, this is interesting." And it seems perhaps I can help said person with some dispelling of bad spirits and old ghosts, so I gladly will. I've looked things up, and aye, it was crash-and-burn and all that shite, but I only feel that I'm happy I feel nothing but a gladness that maybe I can help.
This person has several interesting traits that I share, or, that said person share with me, aaany way... one of them being a tendency to... check things up. I usually do it casually, these days, but I CAN do it doggedly. And I was reminded that what goes up on the net, stays there. No removing it. Very good reminder. I knew it even then, but was stupid enough to think "nah, but WHO would ever think like me, and check these things up?" Oh well. There we go. Very good reminder.
Well, I'm hoping I can chase the daymare away. It'd be nice to be able to do that.
And now, my spelling is going bad, and it's late. I'm hoping to take up my coaching again, and maybe, I can work on "trust" this time. Or maybe not. Trust makes me naive. Naive makes me trust. And all in all, it is a scene set for crash, burn, hurt and pain.
But... I'd like to be able to. It seems so nice.
