Ehtelë

It's been four consecutive days of roleplaying, and my studies and stomach are in just that kind of state.
It's been bloody great, though. We started out a little Saturday evening, me and LittleSir (the trollishness herself) with Malk as our storyteller, and then Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and today were completely given over to roleplaying in the world of Warhammer 40,000. We switched between Malk's and wolf's games, and thus also between characters. I've told you before about Geirhild, or Gera, as my Fenrisian Rune Priest is named, and after a difficult start I think I found her again. She's become less easygoing and happy. I'm thinking of trying to incorporate that little part of her again, but I'm not sure. Anyway, she's good at what she does and lucky that, or the escape from the space hulk would've been FAR less easy or pleasant. I'm not sure where we'll go next, actually, and I'm thinking about suggesting Gera rejoins the others at Captain van Stürm's ship, and I create a new character. But wolf should have good advice in that.
I think the trollishness has gotten a better feel for her character, the Inquisorry I mean Interrogator, and I know for a fact Malk absolutely loves playing his Tanith ex-IG sniper unsanctioned psyker. It's a cool character to meet as well.

The other campaign, well, as it is new...
Me: Anjie, sanctioned psyker, Imperial Guard. A rather unsecure girl, always fiddling with her Uplifting Primer or praying, trying to stay out of trouble and keep a low profile - she's got no pretentions about being anything anyone wants to keep alive, and anyway, she's a psyker and therefore should be shot on sight or at least if she displays any strange powers... well, you get the idea. She does, however, know that her worth lies in battle and combat (if only that alone), and she makes the best use of her (actually: considerable) powers and knows she's good at it. But only then and there. Thin, gaunt and tall, with medium short, badly cut hair and haunted eyes, though clear blue and hauntingly piercing, if ever she raises her head to look into another's face. She's a very interesting character to portray, and I made her insecure on purpose, which worked out fine, after some advice from others - I had quite some difficulty deciding what kind of character to make.

Trollishness: Samuel Failin, "adapted" Sentinel driver with a white monkey familiar. Pale, almost white in face and hair, this character always seems to have a smug smile at the corner of his lips, reserved for an officer. He's an ace at driving and manouvering the Sentinel, and also at shooting with it. His skills are probably what's kept him from being shot several times over the years - in fact, he was almost shot by one of the commissars we made not-friends with. Quite an easygoing character with lots of nifty ideas.

Wolf: Imperial Guard commissar Karstius, with a broken nose and lots of scars, and the obligatory cap that makes him at least twenty centimetres taller. A stern but in Anjie's eyes very pleasant man - he whacked her in the head (so she fell unconscious and out of harm's way) when she asked him to, instead of shoot her at first sight! Has a habit of not liking his equals or superiors and their decisions - practical, but lets common sense go before idiotical following of rules. A dedicated man from an interesting planet, with the zeal and fire of a proper commissar.

Being a sanctioned psyker's... interesting. First thing that happened, my bodyguards were knocked down and I was taken (as it turned out later, to be sacrificed to a psychic conductor of the Archenemy), but the cool Failin took care of that, unknowingly, when he blasted away a Hydra and four Chimeras. I survived, to my surprise, and even greater such when he did not shoot me at sight - without my bodyguards, he should have. And then, when we found the commissar on his mission (where the rest of his men had perished, not a pleasant happening at all) first we did not shoot him, and then, when he found me, he did not shoot me either - and I was even more surprised at that.

As luck would have it, we survived, weathered this and that, managed bad stuff and less bad stuff, took out servants of the Archenemy and behaved like good guardsmen should.
Well, apart from that detail in the camp of the whateverish 32nd. Failin has no idea he's a psyker, too. But the Perils of the Warp assailed him anyways :p
Those details, even. Idiot commissar bitch, stupid fething colonel, and sons-of-crud temporary guards of me. Oh well.

When we finally played the last of it, yesternight, I was by orders stuck in a tiny compartment with my two bodyguards again, bored but not in a situation unusual for me - a certain ass-face colonel was going to "use me until useless" but I didn't know, of course. Failin sat in the arrest for various disciplinary offences, and was looking forward to a week or so there - with no rations or money to speak of for a couple of months - this, too, thanks to a liutenant, the bitchest of them all. And commissar Karstius had conveniently been "forgotten" by everyone, meaning another bitchass commissar had pulled strings - which had also affected me and Failin, of course, and the situation looked shitty.
The dear commissar, however, is resourceful and got himself attached to a company of leftovers - right before SOMEONE stepped through his door without knocking...

And that's where we left off, basically, with the Inquisitor having given him lots of permission and even more power (those =I= are powerful little buggers) - so, maybe things are looking up, after all.
Even if I wind up in an Inquisitorial retinue. It'll still be a lot better than in IG, where life expectancy would be somewhere around... not long. Friendly fire and all that.

It is great fun, all in all. A break is well-needed, though. Four days... wow. I want to go at it again, as soon as I've done away with all that needs doing. Bah, boring! I'm lying, I don't want to do all that needs doing, but I've got to anyway. Stupid reality.

By the way, nearly all words have been in quenya and words for flowers or trees or other growing stuff. Today, I introduce to you the quenya for "spring, well-spring" or other source of water.

Edit:
This was so wicked awesome I couldn't resist posting it - http://pskovarheolog.ru/68.html
From Pskov, Russia, an old trading centre for vikings, comes these pictures. And I'll not waste too much time with excited squealing, but this is actually a find of cloth. They can now recreate, simplified but still, a Viking Age woman's dress. Isn't that completely awesome? It is still only one, and one must take into consideration the area of the find and all... but still! And browse around, despite the Russian, some of the finds they show are AWESOME.

Edit:
Guess I forgot to tell you that somewhere in the haze, I appeared to have some kind of birthday celebration. Some people I found a bit surprising remembered me, but all in all, the occasion passed in a pleasantly unremarkable way.
