This post'll be elaborated. But I'll start.
Me and Daerilin set up camp right by the very same lake where we put up camp for MG5 - but this was Mel'ora and it was not the same at all. We set up our tent in a different location for one. Apart from wolf who helped carry stuff there, no one ever came there. Very good, and just what we wanted.
We did manage to do what we had set out to do. We looked our very best and far better than anything else pointy-eared out there, save only perhaps Ieldrath, the Guardian of the Moriquende, who looked like Malekith the Witch King. And people complimented us afterwards, for that as well as for our way of portraying elves. We've gotten three heartfelt and really nice comments! One asked us whether there really was no elvish blood in our veins in real life *snicker*, and another said he never thought you could be so elvish, even though it's larping *happy*.
We barely interacted with humans at all - we spoke at length only with one, and then a comment or two with a magician. All in all, despite this not being the most action-packed or fun larp, I'm very proud with our achievements.
And apparently, seeing the other elves gawk at me singing in perfect Sindarin was a sight, according to Daerilin, who, on another matter, really made my larp. The interplay between us was great.
The weather wasn't that bad, either! Not TOO much rain, actually, and very pretty moon and stars. And lakes.
For that matter, the rest of the trip was enjoyable, too. Meeting Iwhy was pure bliss, and I really enjoyed spending some relaxed time with Rob. No stressing around the Medieval Week! And the six Edinburghers got to meet.
And now I am at home and when the larp started it was still summer, lovely late summer, but when it ended autumn winds had started blowing and the leaves weren't as green anymore. I get as confused, sad and emotional every time it happens.
Yes, verily - the sea calls us home. Me, at least.
